March 2013 - Lawsuits Filed
Millar Law Firm, LLC is pleased to announce various lawsuits have been filed in March 2013.
1. The first is a personal injury action for a woman hurt when a fitting room door, improperly opening outward, hit her causing her to fall to the ground.
2. The second, a financial harmship case where banking giant Bank of America improperly removed Millar Law Firm, LLC's client's name from a certificate of deposit.
3. The last is a Petition for Judicial Review filed in an attempt to overturn the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services director's ruling. Millar Law Firm, LLC won at the ALJ level (hearing level) but even though he did not hear any evidence or see any witnesses, the director nontheless decided not to incorporate the ALJ's ruling into his decision. Millar Law Firm, LLC is appealing to once again, uphold justice.

Being the giant banking conglomerate it is, Capital One Bank (USA), N.A. is at it again -- suing innocent consumers for amounts they never authorized be charged above their credit card limit. So Millar Law Firm, LLC is at it again seeking justice this time for a client who was sued on three different credit cards he had this improper practice done to and in amounts in the thousands of dollars. Millar Law Firm, LLC is proud to announce a Missouri state class action lawsuit has been filed in St. Charles County, Missouri against Capital One Bank (USA), N.A. The lawsuit (appearing in a counter-claim in a lawsuit originally brought by the banking giant) alleges Capital One violated various provisions of the federal statute, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in attempting to collect on an alleged overdue credit card account. October 8, 2012 - Final Settlement Approved in Nationwide Class Action
Millar Law Firm, LLC, "the little law firm that could," is pleased to announce on October 8, 2012, it achieved final approval of a truly nationwide class of airport screeners who were not paid their promised bonuses in 2008. The class consisted of, "All citizens and lawful permanent residents of the United States who were employed by Defendant or Homeland Security Corporation between January 1, 2008 and September 30, 2008, who earned but were not paid a 2008 PSE Bonus from Defendant or Homeland Security Corporation." Millar Law Firm, LLC is proud to announce a lawsuit has been filed in Lincoln County, Missouri on behalf of an elderly woman who tripped and fell over a pothole in a parking lot maintained (or lack thereof) by RLP Development Company, Inc. a company affiliated with R.P. Lumber. Our client sustained a fracture to her 4th metatarsal of the left foot requiring surgery. Now the right foot is overcompensating and she will likely require surgery on that foot as well. And all the Defendant had to do was properly maintain its parking lot to fill any potholes or other damage to the ashphalt. Keep checking back for more details as they occur.

In an Order and Judgment dated April 2, 2012 in J.A.D. v. R.J.G., the trial court found in favor of mother in all respects and denied father's modification request to permanently take the children away from Mom. The Court even took the unusual sttep of requiring Dad to pay the entirety of the guardian ad litem's fees, since he failed to produce any evidence of child abuse or neglect, which he alleged mother committed. On July 18, 2011 Mr. Millar successfully defeated a request for an order of protection be permanently entered against his client.
